Petroglyphs offer an amazing reminder of the
inhabitants who lived in this rough desert terrain many years ago. In the St.
George area, hundreds of markings have been left behind by the Anasazi Indians
who once lived here.

Hiking to these sites is one of the
unique attractions in the area that you will not want to miss.

Symbols of goats, bear paws, turtles, and more dot the sandstone. Interpretations of some of the markings can be made, while others
are forever lost to our civilization.

Many of the Petroglyphs can be accessed by short walks or hikes. Your service guide will
help you gain an appreciation for the local petroglyphs as they take you to the
sites and answer any questions you may have.
